In Loving Memory
When I Heard

Every flower
I saw at the greenhouse today
seemed to bow its head
as if to pause to pray with me
in thoughts of you and your life.

Suddenly skies were bluer.
Those bowed flowers lifted heads.
Butterflies flounced in freed flight.
Soft winds whipping by whispered,
"It's going to be all right.
It's all going to be okay."

The redirecting breeze reminded me
to eventually adjust to new beats
in the heart, the place, the home,
where all the memories mix and meet
and stay with us now until forevermore.

I bought a special plant at the greenhouse.
I removed the plant's tag and named it Willow.
Willow.
